Our Impact

How it works

Every time an order is placed on Wrenfolk, we fund the planting of one tree. We do this through Greenspark, which connects the order to reforestation projects on the ground and keeps the count for us. The tree is paid for out of our margin, not added to your total.

Where the trees go

Our trees are planted in Haiti, through Eden Reforestation Projects.

Haiti has lost most of its original forest cover, and the loss hits the people living there first: soil washes away, harvests fail, and families run out of options. Eden does not fly people in to plant. They hire local villagers, pay them a fair wage to grow, plant and guard the trees, and keep paying them for years while the forest takes hold. The forest comes back and the village earns a living from it.

That is why we chose it. A tree in the ground is good. A tree in the ground that also puts food on someone's table is better.

Why trees, and not something else

We print plants on t-shirts. Wrens, moths, wildflowers, ferns. It would be strange to build a shop out of the natural world and give nothing back to it. Trees were the honest fit.

What we are not going to tell you

We are not going to call this t-shirt sustainable, carbon neutral or good for the planet. It is a t-shirt. It was made, dyed, packed and shipped, and all of that has a cost the planet pays.

What we can tell you, and prove, is this: you place an order, a tree gets planted. That is a small, real thing. We would rather do one real thing than claim ten we cannot back up.
